HEREFORDS

Specializing in Light Birthweights with
Great Performance plus Remarkable Cows

Welcome to Ulrich Herefords

From the wheatlands of Claresholm, Alberta, Ulrich Hereford Ranch has spent over 50 years building a legacy of sound, efficient cattle and lasting connections across North America.

Founded in 1968, Ulrich Hereford Ranch grew to nearly 5,000 acres east of Claresholm, Alberta. Under the care of Hans and later Peter Ulrich, the ranch became known for practical, efficient Herefords well-suited to prairie conditions, with cow families and herd sires that influenced programs across North America.

With the dispersal of the herd in 2023, Peter reflects: “It’s been a great run. I’m proud of what this herd accomplished and grateful for the support of friends, neighbors, and cattlemen. While the cattle carry on in new pastures, I look forward to the next chapter and staying connected to the breed.”

Thank You

We held our dispersal sale in 2024, marking the close of over 50 years of breeding Herefords in Claresholm, Alberta. We’re truly grateful for the support, friendship, and trust shown over the years. For reference, the catalogue from that sale can be downloaded here for your perusal.

Spruce View Angus Ranch selects sires for superior genetics, structural soundness, and performance. Prioritizing calving ease, growth, and maternal strength, their breeding program ensures high-quality offspring that enhance both commercial and purebred herds.

At Spruce View Angus Ranch, our dams are the foundation of our breeding program, selected for traits like fertility, maternal instincts, and structural soundness. With a herd of 300 momma cows, we ensure that each dam contributes to producing high-quality offspring that meet the rigorous standards of both commercial and purebred operations
